Welcome to the Tailrace Inn…
in the heart of the Scottish Highlands
The Tailrace Inn is a 6 bedroom inn set in Kinlochleven which nestles at the head of Loch Leven, regarded as one of Scotland’s prettiest lochs.
The village of Kinlochleven is surrounded by stunning Mamore Mountain range and scenery and boasts an abundance of beautiful walks. The West Highland Way passes through Kinlochleven and ushers out directly opposite the tailrace inn in the centre of the village.
We are a drop of point for AMS and Travelite, baggage transfer on the West Highland Way.
We are open for meals and accommodation throughout the year.
The outside of the Inn has two large patio areas and a private car park.
Inside there is cosy, comfortable accommodation. Great traditional pub food cooked to perfection from quality local ingredients.
The Inn is open from 8am serving breakfasts to non residents, snacks, lunches and evening meals.
This pictureseque spot is an ideal base for access to a fantastic variety of outdoor activities. Surrounded by the spectacular Mamore mountain range and midway between Glencoe and Fort William, outdoor activities abound, with walking, climbing, fishing, sailing, skiing and golfing. All are available locally with endless opportunities to explore the area on foot, by car or bike. We offer secure storage for those who are touring on bikes.
The roads and scenery around us make us an ideal base for touring by car or motorbike, said by many bikers to be the best roads in Europe.
Hill walkers, climbers, outdoor activities enthusiasts, and all visitors to this stunningly beautiful area will be warmly welcomed for refreshment, relaxation and rest in the comfortable accommodation, restaurant and bar.
Across the road visitors can enjoy ice climbing, rock climbing and the new aerial adventure course at the Ice Factor, the world’s largest indoor ice climbing wall.
